This week on Emphasis, Rich Egger’s guests are Susan Twomey, Executive Director of the Buchanan Center for the Arts in Monmouth, and Sean Genovese, President of the Board for the West Central Illinois Arts Center in Macomb. They talk about upcoming events at the arts centers.
(Editor’s note: Egger serves as Board Secretary for the WCIAC).
The annual 64 Arts national juried exhibit drew entries from across the nation -- and even a couple from other countries.
The exhibit includes 132 works by 78 artists. One of those artists is from Canada and another is from Italy. Buchanan Center Director Susan Twomey said western Illinois is also represented.
“We have some people from Macomb. We have someone from Galesburg. We have three or four artists right from the Monmouth area who all got work accepted into the show,” Twomey said.
