Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is John Graham. He is the Curator of Exhibits for the Western Illinois University Art Gallery.

They walk through the current exhibit "Carry-On Baggage" by mixed-media artist Steve Banks of the Quad Cities. The exhibit will remain on display until September 24. An opening reception is scheduled for September 1 from 6:00-8:00pm and a gallery walk with the artist will begin at 11:00am on September 2.

Graham also previews the other exhibits scheduled for the fall semester.

Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Debbie Hillman. She is co-coordinator of the Illinois Local & Organic Food & Farm Task Force.

The group spent two years developing its recommendations. Hillman talks about some of those suggestions and explains how the plan can create jobs.

The recommendations are contained in the Farm, Food and Jobs Act of 2009. The plan was approved by Illinois lawmakers. Governor Pat Quinn is expected to sign the bill during the Illinois State Fair.

Keokuk, IA – Jason Parrot's guest is Dr Loren Horton. He is a former senior historian for the State Historical Society of Iowa.

They talk about the rich variety of ethnic groups that traveled to Iowa during the 19th Century. Horton also explains why people chose to move from Europe to Iowa.

Horton says by 1895, recent immigrants and the children of recent immigrants made up about one-fourth of the state's population.

Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guests are Timothy Collins and Steve Hicks. Collins is assistant director of the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs. Hicks is a former graduate assistant at the IIRA and is now consulting for the Institute.

They developed a website (www.iira.org/clc) to commemorate the centennial of Theodore Roosevelt's Country Life Commission.

Hannibal, MO – Jason Parrott's guest is Dr Cindy Lovell, who is executive director of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in Hannibal.

They talk about the museum complex, an effort to create a $10 million endowment fund, and the global appeal of Mark Twain nearly 100 years after he died.
