Norris was promoted to his current job about eight months ago.
He says his initial goals were to review staffing levels, help the SEIRPC moving into its new home, and introduce himself to the counties he serves (Lee, Des Moines, Henry, Louisa).
Keokuk, IA – Jason Parrott's guest is Keokuk Area Hospital CFO Wally Winkler. They talk about the future of the hospital.
The regional economy is taking a toll on operations at the hospital.
Winkler says there are a lot of rumors out there about the future of Keokuk Area Hospital. He says the goal of the hospital is to provide efficient, quality care to all who needs it.
That is becoming more difficult to do, though, because of inadequate funding.
Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guests are Rob Porter, Bill Knox, and Timothy Collins of Western Illinois University. They talk about WIU's 8th Annual Environmental Summit.
The summit will be held on both campuses. It takes place Tuesday, April 5 on the Quad Cities campus and the following day on the Macomb campus.
Macomb, IL – Rich Egger's guest is Lt Mike O'Neill. He is a US Army Reserve officer and is credited with helping create Operation: Read It Again!
The literacy project delivers books to children in the Panjshir Province, Afghanistan. The books are by Afghan-born writer Idries Shah.
"They're essentially the Mother Goose stories of Afghanistan," O'Neill said.
Keokuk, IA – Jason Parrott's guest is Karole Smith. She is the Executive Director of the Lee County chapter of the American Red Cross.
They talk about the services offered by the group and how fundraising efforts are proceeding.
Smith says her organization has four priorities.
She says that while the Red Cross is widely known for its disaster response, it also offers health and safety classes, supports the armed forces, and organizes blood donations.
