Macomb School Supt Search Update
The Macomb School District superintendent search appears to be approaching the finish line but it’s not quite completed.
Board of Education member Jude Kiah said there are a few items to work out still beyond just the contract.
“We would like it to be that. But there may be additional things that need to be taken care of outside of fiscal or monetary issues,” Kiah said.
Kiah declined to reveal what those other issues are.
He hoped a new superintendent could be named in the next seven to ten days. Kiah said he will be introduced during an open forum for faculty and staff, students, the public, and the media.
Kiah said the board did “a spectacular job” of moving through the process.
“We gave great due process to every part of the procedure. We received over 200 evaluations (and) took all of those very seriously,” Kiah said.
“(We) Worked through, as a board, all of the issues that we had (and) what we were looking for in candidates.”
The three finalists are Rockridge Unit District Superintendent Chet Lien, Havana Unit District Superintendent Patrick Twomey, and Superintendent Chad Allaman of Central School District in Washington (IL).
