Shower Facilities & Sewer Hook-Ups

Lee County Could Improve Two Parks
Two of Lee County’s more popular parks could be in line for some significant improvements.
Conservation Director Tom Buckley says he and his staff hear the same thing from campers during the summer months.
“They would like to be able to stay at the park longer,” says Buckley, “but they are not able to do that because we don’t have the shower facilities.”
That is why Buckley is proposing the construction of public shower facilities at Wilson Lake Park and at Pollmiller Park.
He says each facility would include four showers (2 male/2 female). There is already a facility with two showers in Pollmiller Park.
The new public shower facilities are expected to cost about $150,000, including electrical work and 16 individual sewer hook-ups at Wilson Lake Park.
Buckley says the individual sewer hook-ups would be based on another request from extended-stay campers.
There could be money available through an economic stimulus fund, if the Board of Supervisors decides to proceed this year.
If not, Buckley would have to include the request in next year’s budget.
