Lee Auditor Cleared of Charges
Keokuk, IA – The Iowa Ethics Board has cleared Lee County's Auditor of charges of campaign violations. Several complaints were filed against Auditor Anne Pedersen before last June's primary election. The ethics board found no probable cause that any rules or statutes were broken. It is considering the matter closed. Pedersen says the claims were unwarranted. The investigation went on for more than one year. The board also ruled that it would not release the name or the confidential source that filed the complaints. Pedersen asked for that name because she believes the complaints were filed using county equipment.
