Christopher is a Student Reporter. Christopher went to Richwoods High School in Peoria and graduated in 2010. After High school he attended Illinois Central College before coming to WIU. Christopher began his journey in radio in his senior year in high school. He took a media class which exposed him to the world of radio and television. Christopher has experience working for the Rave Motion Pictures as a manager and has interned with WAZU, and the ICC public relations department. In his spare time, he likes to play video games, write literature, play cello, or go for walks. He plans to pursue an advanced degree after graduating from Western.

Aldermen Agree to Spend Money on Lamoine Hotel

Macomb aldermen voted in favor of spending $200,000 in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District funds to help a developer acquire and repair the old Lamoine Hotel.

Macomb’s Square: Bringing Back Business

There are roughly a dozen empty storefronts on and near Macomb’s courthouse square.  The former DJ’s Steakhouse and Macomb Bootlegger are just two examples of buildings that remain vacant.

Meanwhile, the city is working on a plan to improve the look of the square, hoping to make it more appealing to businesses and visitors.
