Macomb, IL – US Senator Barack Obama of Illinois officially became President Barack Obama one year ago (January 20, 2009). Since then, there have been some highs and lows for the president.
Obama gave himself a B+ for his performance the past 12 months. But Keith Boeckelman of the Political Science Department at Western Illinois University says that's a bit high. He believes Obama has earned a B.

Teacher unions pushed for the change. It will allow school districts to keep private the job performance reports of teachers, principals, and superintendents.
Supporters of the change say there could be problems if the evaluations are made public. For example, parents could request evaluations for all teachers at a certain grade level and then pick the teacher they want.
