Macomb, IL – There was a big crowd at Macomb High School on Halloween. All those people were not there for a school or holiday related event. They showed up for a swine flu vaccination clinic conducted by the McDonough County Health Department.
Clinics will also be held Monday November 2 at Bushnell-Prairie City High School and Wednesday November 4 at West Prairie Middle School in Colchester. Both will take place from 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
The vaccine is available through a shot and through a nasal spray.
Hancock County, IL – Rich Egger talks to Roger and Gretchen Batz, who donated land in western Illinois to create the Stony Hills Nature Preserve.
The nearly 200-acre site overlooks the Mississippi River between Niota and Pontoosuc. It was donated to the Prairie Land Conservancy.
An open house was held at Stony Hills to thank the couple. However, the preserve is not yet ready for the public on a daily basis. The PLC wants to build a couple small parking lots and add benches and kiosks.
