Chairman Bill McKenna says the MTA wants to see all available funding spent on maintaining the state's current infrastructure. He says the state receives about $450-million, each year, to spend on roads, highways, and bridges.

Rushville, IL – The Schuyler-Industry school district is facing a severe shortfall in state funding, much like every other district around the region. But district leaders in Rushville are choosing to deal with the majority of those problems later.
Superintendent Mathew Plater says the district is facing a loss of two million to three million in state funding next year. But he says the district currently has about $3.8 million in reserves -- even though he's wary of using it.
Keokuk, IA – Roquette America is interested in leasing, with an option to own, the former Ferro-Sil building and a stretch of Twin Rivers Drive. The company would also like to purchase a small piece of city-owned land outside the flood-wall.
Roquette America already owns the land surrounding the building and the city-owned land, purchasing the property from Hendricks Industries. Twin Rivers Drive connects South 7th Street to Roquette America's plant.
The company says the acquisitions would allow for better security and for future growth.
