Lee County Narcotics Task Force http://tristatesradio.com en Task Force Procedures Reviewed http://tristatesradio.com/post/task-force-procedures-reviewed <p>The state of Iowa is recommending the Lee County Narcotics Task Force change some of its operating practices.</p><p>The recommendations are based on a <a href="http://auditor.iowa.gov/reports/1114-0033-B00F.pdf" target="report">report</a>, released this week, by State Auditor David Vaudt.</p><p>The report was requested by the board that oversees the task force.</p><p>The most significant finding is the task force is carrying a $90,000 deficit from the time period of July 1, 2010 - May 31, 2012.</p> Fri, 15 Jun 2012 15:54:08 +0000 Jason Parrott 16786 at http://tristatesradio.com Task Force Procedures Reviewed Keokuk Police Chief Retiring http://tristatesradio.com/post/keokuk-police-chief-retiring <p>Keokuk Police Chief Tom Crew used Thursday night&rsquo;s city council meeting to announce his retirement.&nbsp; His final day on the job will be June 28, but he will officially leave the payroll on July 6.</p><p>Crew has been with the Keokuk Police Department for 25 years.&nbsp; He worked his way through the ranks, serving as patrol officer, captain and assistant chief along the way.</p><p>Crew has led the department for the last seven years.&nbsp;</p><p>His time in local law enforcement also included a stint as commander of the Lee County Narcotics Task Force.</p> Fri, 18 May 2012 05:43:09 +0000 Jason Parrott 15308 at http://tristatesradio.com Keokuk Police Chief Retiring Busy 2012 for Task Force http://tristatesradio.com/post/busy-2012-task-force <p>The Lee County Narcotics Task Force got its start in 1992.</p><p>The organization has been extremely active since the start of 2012.&nbsp; It has made public dozens of arrests throughout the county.</p><p>Commander Stacy Weber credits the work of the detectives involved with the task force.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He says they are three of the most highly motivated officers he has ever met.</p><p>Weber also credits the flow of information coming from inmates and staff within the Lee County Jail.</p> Thu, 10 May 2012 03:33:31 +0000 Jason Parrott 14847 at http://tristatesradio.com Busy 2012 for Task Force
